About Herdman Blinds...

W.M.Herdman Manufacturing Co. Ltd. ( Herdman Blinds ) was founded in the 1950's and was registered as a Limited company in June 1960. The founder was William Herdman, a pattern maker from Glasgow. In the early days, the company specialised in light engineering, casting their own design TV ariels. The companywas approached to design and build a blind gearbox mechanism for a local blind company. After this was achieved a decision was made, that if we could do this for other companies we could certainly do it for ourselves. From the early 1960's W.M. Herdman began manufacturing Venetian blinds and the rest is history.

William Herdman retired in 1989 and Gillian Shelton took over as M.D. as she remains today.
